Saved By Grace, through faith--and that not of yourself, lest any man should boast—Moralism can intrude on the life of the believer at the point when they forget Grace and the merits of Christ and seek to strive to please God in their own efforts and merits without relying on the Blood of Christ for their positional standing of Justification and progressive dependence on the Holy Spirit for Sanctification; not by works indeed, lest any man should boast! Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
